Back in June I decided to take a couple of my clients away with me to Mallorca, Spain to work on some beautiful, sun kissed and holiday inspired destination shoots.
One of my clients was A Weathered Penny, a wonderful brand specialising in crafting design led pieces, vegan beauty and handmade leather goods.
We had worked together on multiple shoots together so it was very special to be able to take a long standing client away with me and create a very new type of images that capture the essence of their summer jewellery pieces.
The idea behind these was to create beautiful aspirational jewellery content to show the pieces in a dreamy lifestyle way. Making the most of the beautiful location, we wanted to capture images in different corners of the Spanish finca including the cactus garden, by the beautiful pink stairs as well as making the most of the crystal clear pool.
The images were meant to be relaxed but also a little moody, injecting some lovely dappled light and harsher shadows to showcase the jewellery products in interesting light.
At the very start of our shoot I was dealing with some unfortunate weather as we were experiencing a sand storm - definitely not ideal when what you're trying to create is sun filled imagery!
Luckily because the location was so beautiful, we were still able to work on some holiday inspired shots whilst waiting for the sun to come back out. The initial shots turned out a little darker and moody which actually worked really well with the brand!
After a few hours, the sun finally made an appearance and we worked on some more dreamy, summery shots. We captured both, product and model jewellery images which meant that the client was able to use a lot of new content for product launches and summer campaign.
The final images were everything I hoped for and more! From stylish product shots to elevated model images we managed to truly capture the summer essence and the beauty of each piece.
Destination shoots are a great way to inject a little bit of lifestyle magic into a brand and show off the pieces in a new and exciting way. They offer a unique opportunity to create a narrative and story telling around the jewellery which helps build a deeper connection with the customers.
